How to Use

1. Prepare the Timber: Ensure the timber is dry and free from dirt, paint, varnish and other repellent coatings before application.

2. Test First: Always carry out a small test area before full application to confirm the final appearance and suitability.

3. Apply: Apply Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment by brush, dip, roller or suitable airless sprayer.

4. Build Protection: Apply 2–3 coats for best results, ensuring an even application across the timber.

5. Allow to Dry: Allow approximately 12 hours drying time under normal conditions.

6. Clean Equipment: Clean brushes, rollers and other suitable application equipment after use with Barrettine White Spirit.

• Coverage: Approximately 5–6m² per litre
• Recommended Coats: 2–3 coats
• Actual coverage may vary depending on timber type, surface condition, porosity and application method

Important Information

• The Clear version does not contain UV fade-resistant colour pigments
• Primarily recommended for pre-treated or pre-preserved exterior timber
• For untreated or unpreserved timber, Barrettine recommends using Universal Preserver first as a primer
• Not recommended for garden furniture unless over-sealed
• Not ideal for decking where greater resistance to rubbing and wear may be required
• When applying outdoors, ensure weather conditions are dry and still
• Always carry out a small test area before full application
