Provides an almost completely natural appearance with minimal light reflection, making it ideal where a low-sheen finish is preferred.

Provides a subtle satin sheen that gently enhances the natural grain and character of the timber.

Coverage

Approximately 24m² per litre with one coat, depending on the condition and absorbency of the wood.

Approximate coverage per coat:

• 750ml: Up to 18m²
• 2.5L: Up to 60m²

Two coats are recommended for untreated wood.

How to Use

Ensure the wood is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease and incompatible previous coatings.

Stir the product thoroughly before and during use.

Apply a very thin and even coat along the direction of the wood grain using an Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, Hand Pad or Microfibre Roller.

Allow the first coat to dry for approximately 8–10 hours, ensuring good ventilation.

Once completely dry, apply a second thin coat and allow it to dry thoroughly before returning the surface to normal use.

Dilution

Osmo Polyx-Oil Original is supplied ready to use. Stir thoroughly before and during application and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container.

Maintenance

For regular cleaning, remove loose dirt and debris using a vacuum cleaner, broom or dry mop.

For routine damp cleaning, use Osmo Wash and Care with a damp rather than wet mop.

For more intensive cleaning and occasional refreshing, Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner can be used where appropriate.

One of the main advantages of Polyx-Oil is that worn areas can be maintained and recoated without having to completely sand the entire floor.

Important Information

• For interior use
• Apply very thinly – over-application will increase drying time
• Ensure good ventilation during application and drying
• Always carry out a trial application, particularly on unfamiliar wood species
• Not every timber species is suitable for Polyx-Oil Original
• Osmo recommends Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin for certain ingredient-rich hardwoods
• 3062 Matt is not recommended for Smoked Oak due to the possibility of a white powdery effect
• Do not use steam cleaners or excessively wet cleaning methods on treated wooden floors
• Oil-soaked cloths must be handled carefully due to the risk of self-ignition; follow the manufacturer's disposal instructions
